Shivamogga: Senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa, who announced his retirement from active politics just before the assembly election, has declared that he will make a crucial decision during the meeting scheduled with his supporters and like-minded individuals in Shivamogga on Friday.

Addressing reporters in Shivamogga on Wednesday, Eshwarappa clarified that he has not officially declared his intention to run as a rebel candidate. However, he acknowledged that his supporters feel he has faced injustice, prompting the convening of a meeting at Banajara Hall in the city on Friday. Eshwarappa stated, “A discussion will take place, and a decision will be reached in that meeting, but as of now, I have not made any decision.”

He mentioned receiving numerous phone calls from leaders and people of the OBC community, emphasizing that he would determine his future political course during the upcoming meeting.

Expressing confidence that his son, KE Kantesh, will secure the party ticket from Haveri Lok Sabha seat, Eshwarappa stressed that it is not just about him becoming an MP but also about saving the BJP. He highlighted the need to rectify the mistakes made in the previous assembly election to ensure the party’s success.
